For Shopify merchants, when customers opt out of receiving marketing emails, they won’t get referral or affiliate program campaign emails. You can use this feature to override your customers’ marketing email preferences
Note: The override applies only to a customer’s first purchase. If they’re unsubscribed, they will stop receiving referral emails for their second and future purchases, even if the override option is enabled.
Overriding email preferences
To ignore marketing email preferences:
From Shopify admin, go to Account > Emails > Marketing emails section.
In the Marketing Emails section, check Send emails even if customers do not opt-in at checkout.
Click Save.
