Customize your affiliate signup form and review applicant submissions to better manage your partner intake in an affiliate program.
Quick check: Are you in the right campaign (and is it Curated)?
Before looking for pending applications, make sure you’re inside the affiliate campaign you want to manage:
Go to ReferralCandy in Shopify.
Click Affiliate campaigns.
Click the affiliate campaign you want to manage.
Click the Affiliates tab.
Now check what tabs you see:
If you see a “Pending review” tab:
This is a Curated affiliate campaign.
People who sign up are treated as applicants, and you’ll review/approve them from “Pending review”.
If you only see “All affiliates” (and there’s no “Pending review” tab):
This campaign is not Curated.
Instant access: people who sign up become affiliates automatically (no approval step).
Invite only: people can’t apply — you add affiliates manually by inviting or uploading them.
Manage affiliate signups
If you created a curated affiliate campaign, people who sign up must be reviewed before they become affiliates. If you enable the optional Signup details page, applicants can also submit additional information to help you decide whether to approve or reject them.
To approve or reject pending affiliate signups:
From Shopify admin, go to Campaigns > Select your affiliate campaign. In the Affiliates box, click Review.
The Affiliates page has the For review, Approved, and Rejected tabs. Go to the For Review tab to see a list of all the pending signups.
Click the checkbox beside the contact. You can select multiple contacts to bulk approve or reject applicants.
Click Approved or Rejected and then click Confirm.
Once confirmed, the contacts are moved to the Approved or Rejected tab and become affiliates in your campaign.
Turn on the signup details page
The Signup details page is an optional, but highly recommended step you can add to your affiliate signup flow.
It appears after an affiliate signs up through the join page or the join block.
When it is turned on, applicants are asked to provide extra information after the initial signup step. This is especially useful for Curated affiliate campaigns, where merchants often want more details before approving or rejecting an applicant.
If it is turned off, applicants can sign up without completing this extra page.
To enable it:
In Shopify admin, go to ReferralCandy.
Click Affiliate campaigns.
Select your affiliate campaign.
Click Widgets.
Find the Signup details page section.
Turn it on.
Click Save.
Note:
When applicants complete this page, their submitted details appear in the Affiliates tab, including the Pending Review tab for Curated campaigns. We also send an email notification when a new affiliate application is submitted, so you can review the application and its submitted details promptly.
Customize the Signup details page
An affiliate campaign can include an optional Signup details page that appears after an affiliate signs up through the join page or the join block.
This page lets you collect extra information before the application is completed. It is especially useful for Curated affiliate campaigns, where you may want more context before approving an applicant.
By default, applicants can sign up with just their basic details. If you turn on the Signup details page, you can ask for additional information such as contact details, social media handles, payment details, or other fields you want to review.
To customize the Signup details page:
In Shopify admin, go to ReferralCandy.
Click Affiliate campaigns.
Select your affiliate campaign.
Click Themes.
Find the live affiliate Theme and click Customize.
In the Visual Editor, open the Signup details page preview.
Click the relevant section in the preview to open its editing options.
Update the available fields in the left sidebar.
Use the preview options on the right if needed.
Click Save.
You can typically customize:
The page heading and supporting text
Which fields appear on the page
Field labels
Whether a field is required or optional
Button text
Footer content
Terms & conditions link text and URL
Important:
Merchants can edit, remove, or add fields depending on the information they want applicants to provide
If the page is turned off, applicants will not be asked to complete these extra fields
Not every visible item is always edited as its own separate block. Some items are controlled by the parent section you selected in the preview
Submitted answers from the Signup details page appear in the affiliate application record, which helps merchants review applicants from the Affiliates tab. In Curated campaigns, this is especially helpful in the Pending Review tab when deciding whether to approve or reject an applicant.
FAQ
Do applicants need to fill out the Signup details page?
No. The Signup details page is optional and only appears if you turn it on for the campaign. If it is off, applicants can still sign up using their basic details only.
Where do the submitted Signup details appear?
When an applicant completes the Signup details page, their answers appear in their affiliate application record in the Affiliates tab. For Curated campaigns, this is especially useful in the Pending Review tab.
