Use the coupon reward to send a discount code to your advocates when they successfully refer a friend. After a successful referral, ReferralCandy emails the advocate a coupon code they can use on another purchase at your store. Advocates can also see every coupon reward they've earned in their advocate or affiliate portal.
Tip: Use a coupon reward if your customers are likely to make repeat purchases — a discount on a future order is a strong motivator to keep referring. Learn more about choosing referral rewards.
Auto-generated coupons
For Shopify merchants, ReferralCandy automatically generates the coupon codes for you — each one is created in your Shopify Discounts after a successful referral. You can choose whether the discount is a fixed amount or a percentage off the advocate's next purchase. For the full setup steps, see Setting up a coupon reward.
Tip: If your product costs more than $100, a fixed cash discount tends to be more appealing. If it costs less than $100, a percentage discount usually works better. Read about the Rule of 100.
The codes ReferralCandy generates are single-use. Multi-use coupons aren't available on Shopify.

Combining a coupon with another reward
You can give a coupon as one of up to two advocate rewards in the same tier. For example, you can combine:
Coupon + cash
Coupon + store credit
Coupon + another reward type available for that campaign
This lets you give advocates a discount for a future purchase while also rewarding them another way for the same successful referral. If you use FlexiTiers, you can apply this in specific tiers to offer a stronger combined reward.

For Shopify merchants, there are two ways to identify referral codes and coupon rewards in Shopify admin:
Referral codes / friend offer coupons (FRIEND- codes)
To identify who a friend offer code belongs to, open the ReferralCandy Contacts page in Shopify admin (Apps → ReferralCandy → Contacts) and search for the code. This is the most reliable method, because ReferralCandy-generated codes are often created inside Shopify discount groups — so searching a single code directly in Shopify Discounts may not return a result. Advocate coupon rewards (THANKS- codes)
To find who received an advocate reward code, open Track coupons in Shopify admin (Apps → ReferralCandy → Track coupons) and search the THANKS- code (for example, THANKS-12345). This page lists all the single-use reward coupons you've sent to advocates.
