Use the coupon reward to send discount codes to your advocates when they successfully refer. After a successful referral, ReferralCandy sends an email with the coupon code that the advocate can use for another purchase at your store.
Advocates can also see all the coupon code rewards they've earned on the Rewards page of the Advocate Portal.
Tip: Use the coupon code reward if your customers are likely to make repeat purchases. Offering a discount coupon for a future purchase at your store can motivate your advocates to refer friends. Learn about choosing rewards.
Shopify and BigCommerce
If your eCommerce platform is Shopify or BigCommerce
For Shopify and BigCommerce merchants, ReferralCandy automatically generates coupon codes for you. You can choose if the discount is a fixed amount or a percentage off the advocate's purchase. How do I set up coupon rewards?
Tip: If your product costs more than $100, a cash discount tends to be more appealing. If your product costs less than $100, a percentage discount is usually more effective. Read about the Rule of 100.
The coupons generated are single-use coupon codes. Using a multi-use coupon is not available for the Shopify and BigCommerce platforms.

Other platforms
If your eCommerce platform is not Shopify or BigCommerce
For other platforms, you must generate and provide the coupon codes yourself as the codes may be tied into your store’s checkout process. You can choose to use either single-use coupons or a multi-use coupon. How to create coupon codes?
Single-use coupon codes
If you select Coupon as your advocate reward, you give out single-use coupon codes by default. Any single-use coupon code that your store accepts during checkout can be used as an advocate reward.
Each code that you upload is given out only once as a reward. If you run out of single-use coupon codes, your campaign is automatically stopped. When this happens, you must generate and upload more single-use coupon codes to your dashboard to resume your campaign.
Multi-use coupon code
If you choose to use a multi-use coupon code, any multiple use coupon code that your store accepts during checkout can be used as an advocate reward.

How can I identify which coupon belongs to an advocate? (Shopify)
For Shopify merchants, there are two ways to identify referral codes and coupon code rewards in Shopify admin:
Referral codes or friend offer coupons
In Shopify admin, go to the Discounts page and paste the friend offer code (e.g., FRIEND-12345
) in the search bar to identify the advocate or affiliate associated with that coupon.
Advocate coupon rewards
To track the coupons rewarded to advocates, go to Track Coupons in Shopify admin. Use the search bar and enter the code to identify the contact who received the coupon reward (e.g., THANKS-12345
). This page contains all the single-use coupons you sent to advocates as rewards.
