Can I disable the friend offer page? (Shopify)

Yes. Disabling the friend offer page takes the referred friend straight to your store's homepage when they click on the Advocate's referral link.

To disable the friend offer page:

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Campaigns > Select your campaign. In the Promote campaign section, click Widgets.

  2. Find the Friend offer page section and click Turn off.

  3. Wait for the changes to save.

Important: Regardless of whether this feature is toggled on or off, ReferralCandy passes the discount code to your Shopify store via UTM parameters. However, if you run a headless setup (or any non-Shopify landing page), the discount code will unlikely be passed to the platform. This affects referral detection and the performance of your referral or affiliate program.

Can I disqualify a referral or delete a purchase after the review period is over?

Unfortunately, no. You can't disqualify a referral or delete a purchase after the review period is over.

ReferralCandy engineers can still disqualify or delete a purchase through the backend system, but doing so won't recall the rewards that were already issued. If you want to pursue purchase disqualification or deletion after the review period, contact us with the following information:

  1. The reason why you need to void or remove the referred purchase.

  2. Email address of the referred friend who made the purchase.

  3. Date and time of the referred purchase.

  4. Email address of the Advocate to whom the referred purchase was credited.

  5. Amount of the referred purchase.

Does ReferralCandy have social media integration?

Yes. ReferralCandy has social media integration with X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and WhatsApp that allows Advocates to share their referral link with friends with one click of a button.

You can set the default message that appears when Advocates share their referral link via each channel. Advocates can also personalize this message before sharing.

How can I invite past customers or website visitors to join my referral program?

There are a couple of ways to invite past customers and website visitors to join your referral or affiliate program:

Through newsletters using the Advocate join page

Each ReferralCandy account comes with an Advocate join page link. To invite people who are subscribed to your mailing list, include a link to your join page in your periodic newsletter to invite them to sign up for your campaign.

Include a link on your home page

To let your website visitors know about your referral or affiliate program, include a link to the Advocate join page or join block (Shopify) on your home page. You can also use the embedded signup page or the floating referral widget to embed a signup page on your website. See how other merchants did that here.

How do I activate or stop my campaign?

Upon signup, you need to complete the required items first before you can activate your referral or affiliate program. Follow the quick start guide in the ReferralCandy web app or Shopify app.

How do I delete a campaign?

Deleting a campaign from the ReferralCandy dashboard is not possible. What you can do is deactivate a campaign by setting its status to Stop or Pause.

How do I edit my emails & pages without affecting my customers?

We recommend you duplicate your theme first to avoid making changes to your live theme. Use the duplicate version to set up and test your new theme. To duplicate a theme:

  1. Go to your Themes page:

    • From the ReferralCandy dashboard, go to Campaigns > Select your campaign > Email & Pages.

    • From your Shopify admin, go to Campaigns > Select your campaign. In the Customize campaign section, click Themes.

  2. Click the gear icon (Non-Shopify) or the three-dot icon (Shopify).

  3. Select Duplicate.

  4. Click Edit (Non-Shopify) or Customise (Shopify). Edit the duplicated theme and save the changes.

  5. Once your theme is fully set up, go back to your Themes page and click Select to activate the new theme.

Should I stop my campaign when I change my referral rewards?

No. There's no need for you to stop your campaign when you change your referral rewards. Stopping your campaign prevents you from gaining new Advocates during that period.

Your campaign's reminder emails contain the newest referral rewards, and they serve to update your Advocates about changes in your referral or affiliate program. You can change the content of your reminder emails to highlight recent changes in your rewards.

Tip: You can add an extra line of text in your referral and reminder emails letting your Advocates know that referral rewards are subject to change.

What is a ReferralCandy Advocate Portal?

Each ReferralCandy account comes with an Advocate portal hosted by ReferralCandy. View the pages that your customers see in the portal.

Will I still get charged if I stop my campaigns?

As long as your account is Active, you are charged as normal regardless of the status of your campaigns. Learn more
