When customers choose to opt-out of receiving email communications from you, they won't receive campaign emails about your referral or affiliate program. You can override your customers' marketing email preferences if they are unsubscribed from receiving campaign emails from your store.


Overriding email preferences

To ignore marketing email preferences:

  1. Go to your Marketing emails settings:

    • From the ReferralCandy dashboard, go to Campaigns > Settings > Marketing Emails section.

    • From your Shopify admin, go to Account > Emails > Marketing emails section.

  2. Scroll down to find the Marketing Emails section. Click to expand.

  3. Check Send emails even if customers do not opt-in at checkout.

  4. Save the changes.

Shopify: Overriding email preferences applies only to the customer's first purchase. If the customer is unsubscribed, they stop receiving referral emails for their second and future purchases, even if the option is checked.
