Change your admin email address, configure automated alerts, and update your account's password on the Profile page in ReferralCandy.


Update your account profile

Change profile and admin email address

The admin email address for your account is the email address that ReferralCandy sends administrative alerts or emails to such as invoice emails, coupon expiry alerts, and suspicious referral activity reports. This can be different from your login email address, which is the email address that you use to log in to your ReferralCandy account.

To change the profile's name and admin email address:

  1. Go to your Profile settings:

    • From the ReferralCandy dashboard, go to Profile > My Profile.

    • From your Shopify admin, go to Account > Profile.

  2. Update the first and last name.

  3. Go to the Admin email address field and enter the new admin email.

  4. Save the changes.

Once the email address is updated, a verification email is sent to the new admin email address. Follow the steps in the email to complete the verification process.

Change the login email address (Non-Shopify)

The login email address is the email address that you use to log in to your account and the ReferralCandy dashboard. It's also the email address that ReferralCandy sends performance reports to.

If you forgot your login email address, contact us and provide the following information so that the ReferralCandy team can correctly identify the account:

  1. Your full name

  2. Your store URL

  3. Your phone number

Important: For security purposes, contact ReferralCandy using an email address that matches the domain of your account's login email address.

Update or reset password

Change the login password (Non-Shopify)

Changing the login password is available only for non-Shopify merchants who use the ReferralCandy dashboard to manage their referral or affiliate program.

  1. On the ReferralCandy dashboard, go to Profile > My Profile.

  2. Click to the Change Password section to expand.

  3. Enter your current and new password.

  4. Click Change Password.

Reset your password (Non-Shopify)

If you forgot your account's password to log in to the ReferralCandy dashboard, you need to reset the password on the login page.

  1. Go to the ReferralCandy web app.

  2. Click Forgot password?

  3. A popup form appears. Enter the login email address associated with your ReferralCandy account.

  4. Click Reset Password.

The link to the password reset page will be sent to your login email address. Click the link to set a new password for your account. If an email doesn't appear in your inbox, check the spam folder.

Note: Changing or resetting the ReferralCandy login email address and password is not applicable to Shopify merchants. If you're using Shopify, refer to the Managing your Shopify account article in the Shopify help center.


Manage automated alerts

You can enable or disable the following alert settings in your account:

  • Referred purchase is detected - Turn on to receive an alert each time a referred purchase is detected

  • Suspicious Referral Activity Weekly Report - Turn on to receive an alert if any suspicious referral activity occurred in the past week

  • Invoice email forwarding issues (Non-Shopify) - Turn on to get an alert when ReferralCandy receives an unusually low number of invoice emails from your account

  • JavaScript tracking code issues (Non-Shopify) - Turn on to get an alert when ReferralCandy detects an unusually low number of JavaScript tracking code hits for your account

The automated alerts are sent to the admin email address you set for your account. ReferralCandy will keep sending alerts related to the invoice email forwarding and JavaScript tracking code if the issue is not fixed in your account.

Note: To ensure your referral or affiliate program runs smoothly, ReferralCandy may reach out to you if the system detects issues with your account.


Can I add team members or have multiple admin logins to access one ReferralCandy account?

Shopify and BigCommerce

Multi-user or staff access is possible for BigCommerce and Shopify merchants, as merchants can grant users access to the ReferralCandy app via these eCommerce platforms.


Other platforms

For merchants using other platforms and store integrations, only one login credential can be used to access ReferralCandy.

ReferralCandy is a fully automated solution that requires minimal day-to-day supervision after setup. If you wish to share access with multiple users, your team could use a shared login email address.


Multi-level access

ReferralCandy doesn't support multi-level access both in the web app and Shopify app. If you plan to share the account with multiple teammates, users are granted all access and permissions to the ReferralCandy account and its settings. It's encouraged that you share the account only with your store admins.

What's the difference between the login email address and admin email address?

The login email address is what you use to log in to the ReferralCandy dashboard. For Shopify merchants, the email address and password associated with your Shopify account serve as your login credentials. ReferralCandy sends performance reports and account-related emails to the login email address.

The admin email address is the email address that ReferralCandy sends administrative emails to, such as billing invoices, coupon code expiry updates, and automated alerts.

Can I use an admin email address different from the login email address?

Yes. You can set a different admin email address from your login email address. For example, the store owner's email address is used to log in to ReferralCandy and manage the account, and the billing admin's email address receives the administrative emails and billing invoices.
