Plans, Billing, Billing History, and Payments

Use the Account tabs (Plans, Billing, Billing History, and Payments) to manage your plan, review current and past invoices (charges), export invoices, and update payment details.

What this article covers

  • Plans: view or change your plan

  • Billing: view your current (running) invoice and export current-period reports

  • Billing History: view past (finalized) invoices and export invoice PDFs/CSVs

  • Payments: confirm how you’re billed and update payment details (if available)

Where to find these tabs

ReferralCandy shows plan and billing settings in different places depending on your platform:

  • Shopify: Open the ReferralCandy app → Account → (Plans / Billing / Billing History / Payments)

  • Non-Shopify: ReferralCandy dashboard → Profile → (Plans & Pricing / Billing / Billing History )

Important (Shopify cash rewards: PayPal vs Tremendous funding)

If your Shopify store uses cash rewards, your charges may be split depending on your cash payout method:

  • Plan charges and success fees

    • Billed through Shopify billing.

  • Cash rewards

    • If you’re paying cash rewards via PayPal, cash rewards are billed separately via the card on file (Stripe), and payouts are processed after the related invoice is successfully paid.

    • If you’re paying cash rewards via Tremendous and your Tremendous funding source is set to Invoice, cash rewards follow a similar “bill first, then pay out” flow (billed via your card on file, then rewards are processed after billing succeeds).

    • If you’re paying cash rewards via Tremendous and your Tremendous funding source is set to Balance, rewards are funded from your Tremendous balance instead (not through ReferralCandy invoicing), so payout timing depends on your Tremendous funding status.

Plans (view or change your plan)

Use Plans to:

  • Check your current plan and success fee

  • See any enabled add-ons (if applicable)

  • Change your plan

How to change your plan

  1. Go to Plans.

  2. Click Change plan.

  3. Select your new plan (and billing type if shown), then click Save.

Note: Plan changes take effect on your next billing cycle. Your current bill won’t change until your next billing cycle starts.

Billing (current running invoice)

Billing shows your current billing period’s running total. Think of this as your “in-progress” invoice for the current period.

Billing typically includes:

  • Your plan fee

  • Your success fee

  • Cash rewards (if applicable)

Exports on Billing (current invoice)

On Billing, you can export reports for the current invoice period. These exports are most useful when you want a breakdown of what’s currently building up in your bill:

  • Success fee details (CSV)

  • Cash reward details (CSV)

  • Invoice PDF (PDF)

    • Shopify only. This is a current (running) invoice, so it may change before the billing period ends. For records/accounting, download the finalized invoice from Billing History instead.

Tip: Because Billing is the current running invoice, numbers may change until the billing period closes.

Billing History (past finalized invoices)

Billing History shows past invoices that are already finalized (for example, last month).

This is the most common place merchants go when they need a copy of an invoice for record-keeping (for example, sharing with a bookkeeper/accountant, attaching to an expense report, or internal finance tracking).

What you can do in Billing History

  • View past invoices (often with a year filter)

  • Click an invoice to open it and see the full details (line items, totals, payment status, billing period)

Exports on Billing History (past invoices)

  1. Go to Billing History.

  2. Click the invoice you want.

  3. Use the export options available on that invoice page, such as:

    • Export invoice (PDF)

    • Export success fee details (CSV)

    • Export cash reward details (CSV)

Note: Some export sections only appear if that invoice actually had those charges (for example, cash reward exports won’t appear if there were no cash rewards during that billing period).

Payments (how you’re billed and payment details)

Use Payments to check how charges will be billed and to update payment details when applicable. (What appears here can vary depending on your setup.)

Payments may include sections like:

  • Charges: how your plan charges/success fees (and cash rewards, if applicable) will be billed

  • Credit card information: the card on file (with an Update option if available)

  • Cash reward credits: any credits that may be applied toward cash reward payouts (if applicable)

How to read base fee vs. success fee timing

Invoices may look confusing because base fees and success fees describe different time windows:

  • Base fee is billed in advance for the upcoming billing period.

  • Success fee is billed in arrears for eligible referral sales tracked in the prior billing period.

If you’re trying to predict charges (for example, before cancelling):

  1. Open Billing History and view your most recent paid invoice.

  2. Note the billing period dates shown on that invoice.

  3. Check your next invoice date (also shown on Billing).

Tip: If you recently finished your free trial, the first base fee invoice may look like a “full month” charge because base fees are billed in advance for the upcoming billing period. This doesn’t mean you were charged for the 7-day trial.
