For your referral program, you can choose to reward advocates who make successful referrals with one of the following options:

If you select the Coupon code reward, you will be choosing to give out single use coupon codes by default. Any single use coupon codes that your store accepts during checkout can be used as a referral reward. (Will I have to create these Referral Reward Coupon Codes or will ReferralCandy create them for me?)
To use single use coupon codes as referral rewards, you will need to generate and upload a list of single use coupon codes into your campaign through the Coupon Rewards section of your dashboard. Each code that you upload will be given out only once as a reward. If you run out of single use coupon codes to be given out as rewards, your campaign will be automatically stopped. You will then need to upload more single use coupon codes to your dashboard to be able to resume your campaign.
Delivery of the single use coupon code reward is handled automatically by the ReferralCandy app. When an advocate becomes eligible for a referral reward after a successful referral, the app will send the advocate an email containing one of these single use coupon codes. The advocate can also access the earned the single use coupon code from their Portal Rewards Page.
Any multiple use coupon code that your store accepts during checkout can be used as a referral reward. (Will I have to create this Referral Reward Coupon Code or will ReferralCandy create them for me?)
To give out multiple use coupon codes as a referral reward, you will need to click on the "Multiple Use Coupon" tab in the "Add coupon codes" section.
Delivery of the multiple use coupon code reward is handled automatically by the ReferralCandy app. When an advocate becomes eligible for a referral reward after a successful referral, the app will send the advocate an email containing the multiple use coupon code. The advocate can also access the earned multiple use coupon code from their Portal Rewards Page.
Cash rewards can be of the following types:
A fixed cash amount (e.g. $10 for each referral made)
A percentage of the referred friend's purchase (e.g. 5% of referred friend's purchase for each referral made)
If you choose to offer a Cash Reward, make sure that the minimum purchase amount for a purchase to be rewardable is set above the cash reward amount to prevent yourself being out of pocket from each referral.
Delivery of the cash rewards is handled by the ReferralCandy app automatically through these channels:
PayPal - the reward will be sent directly to the advocate's PayPal account by ReferralCandy. If the advocate does not have a PayPal account, they will be directed to PayPal to set one up
If you select more than one channel, advocates will have a choice of any of the selected channels (advocate, advocate's chosen charity and/or advocate's referred friend) when claiming their reward. Learn more about how the cash rewards are paid out.
Note: The currency shown for cash rewards should be the main currency of your referral program. Regardless of which currency you set, cash rewards will be always paid out in the USD equivalent amount via PayPal. (learn more)
Custom Rewards are the most flexible reward type but will require you to fulfil them yourself. You are essentially able to offer any reward that you are able fulfil directly with the Advocate (e.g. merchandise, points, gift cards etc.)
Each time a referral is detected by ReferralCandy, an email will be sent to the advocate to inform him/her of their eligibility for the reward. An email alert will also be sent to you by default to inform you of the referral, so that you can process that information, store it in your database, and send out the reward manually yourself.
Other than the default email, there are 3 other ways that you can obtain information about each referral:
Referral Report (all the referrals are collated in the Referral Report accessible from your dashboard, you can simply poll this on a regular basis)
Referrals method of the API (this method lets you query for referred purchases made over some period of time)
Webhook (please let us know the webhook URL you'd like us to call)
Please note that implementing an automated solution for the Custom Reward at scale will likely require some technical experience.
